  • A “Whatever It Takes” Attitude

For the past 17 years, I've helped brands, agencies, nonprofits, filmmakers, and organizations tell compelling stories through video. My work has taken me into corporate headquarters, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, helicopters, laboratories, and countless locations in between. Whether I'm producing a patient testimonial, supporting a documentary crew, or filming a large-scale corporate event, my goal is always the same: create authentic, engaging visuals that serve the story.

My path to filmmaking has been anything but conventional. As the son of a U.S. diplomat, I spent much of my childhood overseas, moving between countries and cultures. In those pre-internet years, movies became a connection to home. I was fascinated by the worlds created by filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Tim Burton, and M. Night Shyamalan, and before long I was recruiting neighborhood kids to star in homemade commercials and short films shot on the family camcorder.

After college, I began my career as an associate video producer for a Fortune 500 company in the Washington, D.C. area. That role took me across the country working on projects involving federal agencies, government departments, and branches of the U.S. military. It was an incredible training ground, providing opportunities to develop both technical expertise and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments and challenges.

Eventually, I traded the East Coast for Portland, Oregon, where I've spent the past decade building a freelance career that has connected me with an extraordinary range of clients and collaborators. One of my favorite parts of this profession is that every project offers a chance to learn something new and meet people whose stories might otherwise go untold.

When I'm not behind a camera, you'll usually find me exploring the Pacific Northwest with my wife, Joanna, experimenting with vintage lenses, or planning my next backcountry hiking trip. I'm also passionate about supporting fellow filmmakers and helping creative teams bring ambitious ideas to life.

I believe storytelling can be a force for positive change, which is why I offer reduced rates for select projects focused on conservation, climate, and scientific research.
